Over the years, scores of students have jumped to the task and saved the life of a cat of dog thanks to what they have learned in Fleck’s class. Pet Sitters most certainly thrive in their jobs because they work with Fluffy or Fido by their side, but no matter where they go… injury and illness can occur, so empowering you with confidence, techniques and the tools to have on hand, can truly be a life-saver BEFORE veterinary care is available.

Attendees of this session will:

1. Become more aware of common causes of injury and taking necessary steps in their clients’ homes to prevent them

2. Will be able to recognize the signs of illness and injury and learn how to evaluate a pet who is “not quite right.”

3. Will gain confidence as well as skills to jump to the task to prevent further injury and alleviate pain BEFORE they can get the dog or cat to competent veterinary care. Lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice will be used to cover the following skills:

  • Muzzling, Safe Approach & Transporting Animals
  • How to Find Your Pet’s Pulse, Respiration, Capillary Refill Time & Check for Hydration
  • Rescue Breathing, CPR & the latest…CPCR
  • Bandaging & Splinting Techniques
  • What to do for: Abscesses, Bloat, Burns, Choking, Constipation, Diarrhea, Drowning, Electrocution, Fading, Falls, Frostbite, Heat Stroke, Poisoning, Seizures, Shock, Vomiting How to handle Snake Bites, Bee Stings, Tick Removal.
  • Injection Lab for giving Insulin or at-home Allergy Shots
  • Oxygen Therapy Lab for pets needing at-home care
  • What items you should have and how to use the items in your Pet First-Aid Kit

Dr. Marty Becker photoDr. Marty Becker, “America’s Veterinarian,” has spent his life working toward better health for pets and the people who love them. He is the founder of Fear FreeSM, an initiative to “take the ‘pet’ out of ‘petrified’” and get pets back for veterinary visits by promoting considerate approach and gentle control techniques used in calming environments.

Dr. Becker was the resident veterinary contributor on “Good Morning America” for 17 years. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the American Humane Association as well as its Chief Veterinary Correspondent, a founding member of Core Team Oz for “The Dr. Oz Show,” and a member of the Dr. Oz Medical Advisory Panel.

He has written 25 books that have sold almost 8 million copies, including three New York Times best-sellers — one of which is the fastest-selling pet book of all time, Chicken Soup for the Pet-Lovers Soul. He has been a contributor to Parade magazine, Reader’s Digest and AARP.com. Animal Radio hosts him monthly as their Chief Veterinary Correspondent.

Our conference tickets ARE transferable. If you must cancel your purchased conference ticket, please first consider transferring it to an interested party. If you need assistance with this, let us know. To cancel your purchased conference ticket, submit your request to us in writing via email by August 1, 2018 and receive a full refund on money paid, less a $75 cancellation fee. Due to financial obligations incurred by PetSittingOlogy, a credit less 50% of the full registration fee paid will be issued for written requests received between August 2, 2018 and up to and including 30 days prior to the start of the conference (September 8, 2018). No refunds or credits will be issued on cancellation requests received less than 30 days prior to the start of the event.
